Nestled into the center of Adirondack Park [1] are more still blue lakes, encircled by densely packed forests and small- to moderate-size peaks. The climate here is not as harsh as it is farther north, and the landscape has a more human-size feel.
Some sections of the Central Adirondacks, such as Indian Lake [2], attract only a handful of visitors; others, such as Old Forge [3], are disturbingly overrun.
