Relatively new to Saratoga’s art scene is the dynamic Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College (815 N. Broadway, 518/580-8080, www.skidmore.edu/tang [1], 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Tues.–Fri., to 9 p.m. Thurs., noon–5 p.m. Sat.–Sun., suggested donation adults $5, children over 12 $3, seniors $2, children under 12 and students free), hosting both contemporary art exhibits and cultural events.
Donated to Skidmore College in 2000 by Chinese-born American businessman Oscar Tang, whose daughter and wife are both Skidmore alumni, the museum is dedicated to “fostering interdisciplinary thinking.”
The permanent collection includes works in a wide range of media, while temporary exhibits focus on everything from pop art to site-specific installations.
