Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market (39th St., between 9th and 10th Aves., 212/243-5343, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Sat. and Sun.) has taken over what was left of the Chelsea [1] flea market (the Annex). HK Flea focuses on secondhand items; with over 100 vendors you are sure to get your fix of vintage and mid-century items.
The Antiques Garage (112 W 25th St., between 6th and 7th Aves., 212/243-5343, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat. and Sun.) is two floors of antiques in a parking garage.
GreenFlea (Columbus Ave., between 76th and 77th Sts., 212/239-3027, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Sun.) has a mixture of new and used goods as well as a green market. The biggest and best of the flea markets are out in Brooklyn [2] so make the trip to the Brooklyn Flea’s two locations: Fort Greene [3] (Lafayette Ave., between Clermont and Vanderbilt Aves., 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat.) and DUMBO [4] (Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park between Main and Water Sts., 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Sun.).
Surrounding the Malcolm Shabazz Mosque [5], the Malcolm Shabazz Harlem Market (116th St., between Lenox and 5th Ave., 212/987-8131) dozens of vendors sell T-shirts, Kente cloth, African art, wool skullcaps, Gambian drums, women’s hair twists, down coats, and CDs.
