Housed in a magnificent French Gothic mansion once belonging to businessman Felix Warburg, the Jewish Museum (1109 5th Ave., at 92nd St., 212/423-3200, www.thejewishmuseum.org [1], 11 a.m.–5:45 p.m. Thurs.–Tues., check as Fri. closing time varies, adults $12, seniors $10, students $7.50, children under 12 free) is the nation’s largest Jewish-culture museum.
Spread over three floors and a basement are top-notch, changing exhibits on such subjects as “The Dreyfus Affair,” or “Jews and African Americans,” as well as an outstanding permanent collection of ceremonial objects and cultural artifacts.
