The Brew-BQ burger, Carolina pulled pork sandwich, lager-braised bratwurst, and beer-battered fish-and-chips ($6–16) take a backseat to the beer at this local alehouse.
Front Street Brewery is the only restaurant with a brewery in Wilmington [2] and the award-winning microbrews—all brewed on-site—have earned it a reputation as the place to grab a cold one.
In addition to brews like Lumina Lagera, Dram Tree Scottish Ale, and Port City IPA that are available year-round, the brewery has several seasonal ales. Brewmaster Kevin Kozak leads brewery tours everyday 3–5 p.m.
It’s not uncommon to see locals coming in with half-gallon jugs in hand. The reason? The jugs, called European growlers, are giant to-go containers. Purchase one for $35 and have it refilled with any of the microbrews made on-site.
