Listing the specs—98 acres with a seven-acre lake, outdoor amphitheater, and walking trails—doesn’t do Freedom Park justice; it’s a gem and has been called the “Central Park of Charlotte.”
The park is in the heart of the Dilworth neighborhood and is the most picturesque park in Charlotte [2]—and when the sun is out, it’s also the most crowded.
The paved trail that circles the lake is lined with joggers, strollers, inline skaters, and dog walkers. It’s not uncommon to see fishermen casting a line into the lake (and kids getting too close to the edge in their attempts to get a closer look at the ducks).
