Warner Guiding & Outfitting (www.horseback.com [1]) offers a great variety of trips. Their main office is downtown in the Trail Rider Store (132 Banff Ave., 403/762-4551), although trips depart from either Martin’s Stables (403/762-2832), behind the recreation grounds on Birch Avenue, or Banff Springs Corral (403/762-2848), along Spray Avenue.
From Martin’s Stables, the one-hour trip departs daily 9 a.m.–6 p.m. and takes in a pleasant circuit around the Marsh Loop ($40). A two-hour trip around the Sundance Loop ($72) departs four times daily.
Other longer trips include the three-hour Mountain Morning Breakfast Ride, featuring a hearty breakfast along the trail (departs 9 a.m., $102); and the Evening Steak Fry, a three-hour ride with a suitably western steak and baked bean dinner along the trail (departs 5 p.m., $102).
