It’s a great place to relax with friends.
Located right along the water, Harbor Café (255 N. Harbor Dr., 907/835-4776) serves upscale fast-food: burgers, crunchy halibut burritos, sandwiches, and salads. Also of note for lunch is the local health food store, Rogue’s Garden (354 Fairbanks Dr., 907/835-5880), with bagels, sandwiches, organic espresso, and smoothies.
Ernesto’s Taqueria (326 Egan St., 907/835-2519) serves authentic, reasonable, and tasty Mexican meals, including $10 lunch specials. They open early (7 a.m.) in summer but serve lunch and dinner only in winter.
Fu Kung (207 Kobuk Dr., 907/835-5255, daily 11 a.m.–11 p.m.) occupies a Quonset hut and, in addition to the expected Chinese favorites, also has seafood (try the mu shu shrimp), sushi, and lunch specials.
