The Pratt Museum [2] operates excellent 1.5-hour walking tours of Homer Spit [3] and the harbor for $5. These depart Friday and Saturday at 3 p.m. throughout the summer, and include local history and lots of detail on commercial fishing and sportfishing. Get tickets at the Pratt (3779 Bartlett St., 907/235-8635) or in the little booth next to the Salty Dawg Saloon on the Spit.
