The sprawling grounds of Loose Park have made it a local favorite for picnics, walks, and relaxation. Loose Park is home to a lake, shelter house, tennis courts, a wading pool, and several historic Civil War markers.

The park’s most popular attraction, the Laura Conyers Smith Municipal Rose Garden, is a fragrant oasis of more than 4,000 flowers that represent 150 varieties of roses.

A popular venue for local weddings, the rose garden is carefully maintained thanks to the dedicated volunteers of the Kansas City Rose Society.
