One of Kansas City [2]’s newest architectural marvels, the Moshe Safdie–designed Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art performance venue that will become the home of the Kansas City Ballet, Kansas City Symphony, and Lyric Opera in late 2011.
Curved steel and thick glass combine to create a statuesque lobby that moves gently in the wind and offers panoramic views of downtown.
Surrounding acoustic joints allow for simultaneous performances, and individual screens on each chair back allow for operatic and other translations to several languages.
