Staccato (5 NW Minnesota Ave., 541/312-3100, 4 p.m.–close Mon.–Sat., 5 p.m.–close Sun., $12–29, reservations recommended), a lively Italian restaurant located in Bend [1]’s first fire station (yes, the fire pole is still in place), has a huge wine list and great homemade pasta. Try the wild boar pappardelle (a house-made chickpea pasta with wild boar ragout) or another pasta dish that features braised elk shoulder with Madeira sauce, white truffle oil, and local chanterelle mushrooms. A late-night menu features a good variety of small plates.
