Horseback Riding

Hawk’s Rest Ranch at Siskiyou West Day Lodge (94667 N. Bank Pistol River Rd., Pistol River, 541/247-6423, www.siskiyouwest.com [1], rides $35–45), a working horse ranch, offers horseback riding through the forest and on the beach near the scenic Pistol River.

The most popular ride is a 1.5-hour ride across the dunes and along the beach ($40). Rides leave several times daily, but it’s best to call in advance for reservations.
