The 0.25-mile Robinson Lake Trail takes you to a heart-shaped lake with some fishing and swimming. To get there, take the McKenzie River Highway [1] about 16 miles east of McKenzie Bridge and turn right onto Robinson Lake Road. Be on the lookout for logging trucks and rocks on the gravel road. Follow the signs marked Forest Service Road 2664.
At the unmarked junction, drive straight onto the red pumice road (Forest Service Rd. 2664) and continue until you reach the parking lot. It takes about 10 minutes to drive the 4 miles in.
The easy hiking trail is in good condition; the left fork takes you to the center shore of Robinson Lake. The shallow lake warms up considerably during the summer, making a swim all the more inviting.
