Koosah Falls is about 20 miles from McKenzie Bridge on the McKenzie River Highway [1]. The visitor facilities here provide wheelchair access and excellent views of this impressive 70-foot-high waterfall on the McKenzie. The blue water bounces and bubbles over and through a basalt formation that flowed into the McKenzie thousands of years ago.
If you look carefully, you can see many small springs flowing from crevices at the base of the waterfall. The blue water may have inspired the name Koosah, which comes from the Chinook word for “sky.”
