Sundance Natural Foods (748 E. 24th Ave., 541/345-6153) features excellent selections of wine and organic produce. Sundance’s fresh salad bar and hot buffet are a good deal. Just around the corner from Sundance, find Humble Bagels (2435 Hilyard St., 541/484-4497), a landmark Eugene [1] eatery.
Dinner on the outside deck at
Beppe & Gianni’s Trattoria (1646 E. 19th Ave., 541/683-6661, 5–9 p.m. Sun.–Thurs., 5–10 p.m. Sat.–Sun., $14–21) is one of Eugene’s coveted summertime dining experiences. The menu features homemade pastas with light northern Italian cream- or olive oil–based sauces graced by fresh vegetables, meats, or fish. Try the cappelli di vescovo (bishop hats)—pasta stuffed with Swiss chard, prosciutto, and cheese in a brown-butter sage sauce.
