A little farther from town is Hood River Golf Course (1850 Country Club Rd., 541/386-3009, www.hoodrivergolf.com [2], daylight–dark, $28). It has 18 holes that are a bit hillier than at Indian Creek, as well as beautiful views of Mount Hood [3], Mount Adams [4], elk, and geese. Come in fall if only to see the spectacular foliage.
