Most visitors to Walt Disney World [1] are faced with the decision of whether or not to stay on Disney property. The rates at most on-site hotels are a bit higher than at nearby places, but there are some distinct advantages to bear in mind.
Guests who stay within the resort are entitled to take advantage of the complimentary Disney’s Magical Express service, which picks them up from the airport and drops them and their bags at their hotel. Combined with the near-constant availability of bus transportation throughout the resort, guests who arrive intending to only explore Disney property will have all of their transportation needs taken care of, negating the need for a rental car.
Disney hotels are divided into three categories—value, moderate, and deluxe. But regardless of which tier you choose, the basics remain the same: an immaculately clean (if small) guest room located in a large, well-equipped hotel complex filled with swimming pools, dining options, recreational activities, and thousands of other tourists.
As one ascends from “value” to “deluxe,” the amenities and atmosphere scale accordingly, but even the most basic level of service on Disney property is in line with the best midrange national chain hotel.
