There are two decent spots to grab a morning bite in the arts district downtown. The appropriately named Third Street Cafe (1361 3rd St., 239/261-1498, 6:30 a.m.–3 p.m. daily, main courses from $6) has basic breakfast fare served in a pleasant utilitarian environment. During lunch, they have larger crowds for the deli selections. Even if you can’t be bothered to make the walk, fear not, as the Third Street Cafe also delivers.
Jane’s Cafe (1209 3rd St., 239/261-2253, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. Sun., main courses from $3) is a small European-style café complete with a beautiful outdoor dining area that specializes in pastries and lighter breakfast bites as well as impressive omelets and a few vegetarian options.
