Most travelers who come to the town of La Romana [1] do so for the afternoon or just pass through, so the nightlife is almost completely limited to Casa de Campo [2] and the other all-inclusive resorts, such as the Santana Beach Resort (tel. 809/412-1010, fax 809/412-1818, www.santanabeach.com [3]), where you can buy a night pass that entitles you to dinner, drinks, and entrance into the discos. There are more nightlife options available in nearby Bayahibe [4].
Dinner at one of the many restaurants at Altos de Chavón [5] is a romantic option that can be followed with dancing at the disco.
Michelin Baseball Stadium (tel. 809/556-6188, www.lostorosdeleste.com [6], tickets RD$50–250) holds baseball games during the winter. Baseball fans shouldn’t miss an opportunity to catch a game at this stadium. Cheer loud and proud for the local team, La Romana Azucareros (La Romana Sugar Bowls), also known as Los Toros del Este.
