Tucson [2], especially its foothills, is known for its year-round patio dining and sweeping views of the city, with twinkling lights from the valley like signal fires in the darkness below. The best patio out of them all is the Terraza del Sol bar, inside The Grill at Hacienda del Sol, a charming historic resort in the foothills.
Terraza del Sol serves a relatively low-priced bar menu ($7–26) of creative small plates, and features live music Thursday–Sunday. Inside at the Grill, dinner consists of entrées on the order of pork osso buco with a bing-cherry shallot confit, and Tasmanian ocean trout with a roasted beer and potato carpaccio. You know, the usual. Reservations are strongly recommended.
