Twenty-three kilometers from the Ceiba–Trujillo highway along the Río Cangrejal [1] is the community-run Cooperativa Reyes y Asociados (www.cangrejal.com [2]), with four wooden cabins tucked into the forest around the village of Toncontín. Each cabin has a porch and bathroom and is solar-powered. Hiking and horseback riding and guides are available. There is a kitchen where food can be prepared for you, or you can bring your own and cook.
