El Eden & Neptune Bar (on an unnamed gravel road across the canal from Mamacita’s, Dewey, 787/742-0509, Thurs.–Sat. 9 a.m.–9 p.m., Sun. 9 a.m.–2 p.m., Mon. 9 a.m.–6 p.m., $17–24) is a quirky little place owned by Richard Cantwell and Luz Rivera, who have put a lot of love and care into this eclectic combination deli, fine dining restaurant, tiki bar, wine shop, and grocery. All breads and desserts are made on-site using minimal processed foods and as many local products as possible.
Lunch features deli sandwiches and daily specials, and the dinner menu changes weekly, but the risottos are their specialty. Other options may include gnocchi in pesto, veal marsala, and churrasco. For dessert, try the passion fruit or Kahlúa mousse. There’s a great tiki bar with shell-encrusted mirrors and bamboo if you just want to drink.
