Lago Garzas (Carr. 518, south of Adjuntas), a 91-acre artificial lake, is primarily used to generate electricity. But it’s also a great little fishing spot for largemouth bass, sunfish, catfish, and shad. A boat launch (787/829-3310) is open Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Saturday–Sunday 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Long-distance runners flock to Adjuntas [1] for El Gigante Marathon, a 15-kilometer run held in mid-July. For details, call 787/829-3114.
