Because of Honduras [1]’s rugged topography, a number of isolated regions remain refuges for numerous wild species extinct elsewhere. The larger national parks, in particular Pico Bonito [2] and Sierra de Agalta, and the rainforest of the Reserva de la Biosfera del Río Plátano are the most likely places to encounter rare mammals.
