Yaba Ding Ding (tel. 504/445-1683, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Sat.)—which is the islanders’ nickname for pre-Columbian artifacts—carries paintings by well-known Honduran painters like Virginia Castillo, carvings, batik, woven junco baskets from Santa Bárbara [1], Honduran and Cuban cigars, T-shirts, and more. It’s one of the best handicraft stores on the island, and well worth a visit if you happen to be wandering through Coxen Hole [2]. The store is on the ground floor of a two-story building next to H.B. Warren’s supermarket.

In the center of town (to the left, or east, when arriving into town along the main road from the highway) is H.B. Warren’s (7 a.m.–6 p.m. Mon.–Sat.), one of the best supermarkets on the island (along with Eldon’s in French Harbour [3], and a Megafoods in the new mall will soon give everyone a run for their money).
