Hotels in West End [1] mostly fall into the moderate range, US$25–50 for a double, generally in a cabin with ceiling fan, screened windows, and private bathroom. The budget traveler will be glad to hear, however, that less expensive digs are still available—although groups of two or three can often find better quality rooms for the same price in the midrange accommodations. There are a couple of higher end spots, too, for those who prefer the buzz of West End [1] over the quiet nights on West Bay [2] beach or at the resorts. Keep in mind that the lower-end prices are available September–November.

The 16 percent Honduran tax on hotel rooms has been added here for those hotels that do not include it in their rates. It’s worth keeping in mind that hotels that normally charge separately for the tax are often willing to include it in their rates for guests who pay with cash.
