Naturalissimo (tel. 916/613-9648, 7 a.m.–10 p.m. daily, US$3–7) is a combination store-restaurant specializing in organic products and vegetarian food. There are two locations: Avenida Central Oriente at 4 Calle Oriente, and 6 Calle Poniente Norte at Avenida Central Poniente. The menu is identical at both and includes mostly faux-meat dishes like hamburgers and tacos al pastor made of soy. Also look for good comida corrida (lunch specials, US$7) and deluxe shakes (US$3) made with various fruit and veggie juices—everything from beets to papaya. The setting is a bit sterile, but the food is a nice change of pace.
The restaurant at Hotel María Eugenia (Av. Central Ote. 507, tel. 961/613-3767, 7 a.m.–11 p.m. daily, US$4–12) won’t win any charm awards, but it has long hours and serves a variety of reliable meals, from pasta and quesadillas to grilled meat and fish fillets. The breakfast buffet (US$10) includes made-to-order eggs, pancakes, sausage, yogurt, and cereal.
