Every July 17, Catholic worshippers flock to the 18th-century Templo de San Cristóbal (El Cerrito) to honor its patron saint, Saint Christopher. And that’s no easy task—the church is on a cerrito (small hill) and is reached by a steep set of about 240 steps. It’s a nice place to visit at any time of the year, affording a panoramic view of town.
If you’re not up for the climb, there is a road on the other side of the hill; a cab to the top costs US$2.
