Most hotels offer information about city tours. However, Bluepoint (SCLN, 310, Bl. D, Lj. 71, tel. 61/3274-0033, www.bluepoint.com.br [1]), which also offers trips to the surrounding Cerrado [2], is known for interesting thematic half-day city tours, which range from classical architectural tours to “mystical” tours that offer a glimpse into the pronounced esoteric side of Brasília [3]’s personality. Other less traditional but striking views of the city can be gleaned from the water and air.
Tôa Tôa (tel. 61/9982-1161, www.navegatour.com.br [4]) operates two-hour boat trips around the Lago Paranoá, by day and at night, departing from the ASBAC yacht club, for R$25 per person. And if you’re willing to fork out close to R$100, you can get a splendid bird’s-eye perspective of Brasília during a 10-minute helicopter ride with Esat Aerotaxi (Eixo Monumental at the Torre de TV, tel. 61/3364-9933, www.esataerotaxi.com.br [5], 8 a.m.–8 p.m. daily).
