From Morro de São Paulo [1], you can take boat trips around Tinharé island, with stops at the offshore reefs of Garapuá and Moreré, the beaches of Tassimirim and Cueira, and the villages of Boipeba and Cairu. All destinations offer ample opportunities for swimming, snorkeling and then refueling with fresh seafood.
An easy hike leads to the pretty village of Gamboa, from where you can easily reach the Fonte do Ceu waterfall. The trail passes by cliffs of colored clay where you can give yourself a purifying facial—or rather, “clacial.”
Another highlight is diving in the clear shallow waters off Primeira and Terceira Praias, which you can do by day or night. For more information, contact Companhia do Mergulho (Primeira Praia, tel. 75/3652-1200) and Tinharé Dive Club (Terceira Praia, tel. 75/3652-1573).
