There are plenty of opportunities for kids and nature-lovers to learn about and enjoy animals up close and personal in the Palmetto State. Chief among them are the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden [1] (www.riverbanks.org [2]) in Columbia and the South Carolina Aquarium [3] (www.scaquarium.org [4]) in Charleston.
On a smaller scale there is Charles Towne Landing [5] (www.charlestowne.org [6]) in Charleston and Alligator Adventure [7] (www.alligatoradventure.com [8]) and T.I.G.E.R.S. [9] (www.tigerfriends.com [10]), both in Myrtle Beach.
