The 276-acre Lynch’s Woods Park (803/276-0032, daily dawn–dusk, free) just on the outskirts of Newberry [1] has plenty of wooded trails for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. A passage of the statewide Palmetto Trail (www.palmettotrail.org [2]) goes through here.
Get to Lynch’s Woods Park from downtown Newberry by taking Main Street east to U.S. 76 (Wilson Road). Look for the sign on your left. From I-26, take exit 74 and head west on Highway 34 for two miles. Take a left onto U.S. 76 and look for the sign.
