Sid and Nancy’s (743 Saluda Ave., 803/779-6454, Mon.–Fri. noon–8 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.–7 p.m., Sun. 1–3 p.m.) in Columbia [1]’s Five Points, as the name might indicate, is an awesome vintage/thrift store with a definite cutting-edge, post-punk appeal.
Also in Five Points, Natural Vibrations (719 Harden St., 803/771-4144, Mon.–Sat. 11 a.m.–6 p.m., Sun. 1–6 p.m.) deals on the rasta end of the scale, with hemp products, T-shirts, and various reggae-related merch.
For various University of South Carolina [2] burgundy-and-white gear, try the Gamecock Stop (1928 Rosewood Dr., 803/748-0487, Mon.–Sat. 9 a.m.–6 p.m.), though the selection at Addam’s University Bookstore (152 Assembly St., 803/256-6666) is great.
