This long weekend gives you a taste of life in Myrtle Beach [1] and the rest of the Grand Strand [1]. The area is small enough to stay in one place for both nights, but so popular that travel along the 60-mile long Strand can be slow. Be sure to leave enough time to get from place to place.
Begin the day at historic Hampton Plantation [2] before taking a guided kayak tour [3] around Winyah Bay or Hobcaw Barony. Have an early dinner on the waterfront in nearby Georgetown [4], then drive up to Myrtle Beach [1] for the night. Stay at Serendipity Inn or Driftwood on the Oceanfront [5], or make camp at Huntington Beach State Park [6].
In the morning explore Brookgreen Gardens [7], one of the most unique sights in the Grand Strand. Spend the afternoon in Myrtle Beach: Shop and take in an IMAX movie at Broadway at the Beach [8]. After dinner go for a fun, cheesy round of miniature golf [9] under the stars. Or perhaps take in a show at the Carolina Opry [10], or learn to dance the shag at old Ocean Drive Beach [11].
Spend the morning on the beach. After lunch visit one of the Ripley’s attractions (Ripley’s Aquarium [12] or Ripley’s Believe it or Not! [13]) or take in a concert at the House of Blues [14] in Barefoot Landing.
