The Collector’s Hill neighborhood at the intersection of South Road and Collector’s Hill has a handful of busy eateries popular with area residents and passersby.
A local favorite, 
Speciality Inn (4 South Shore Rd., tel. 441/236-3133, fax 441/236-2929, speciality [at] northrock [dot] bm, 6 a.m.–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat.) serves up home-style comfort food, including the creamiest mac ’n’ cheese, in a casual, cafeteria-style diner/pizzeria where the folks are friendly and fast. Maybe that’s what brought Clint Eastwood here during a golfing holiday in 1996, or Jimmy Carter and his son Jack (a former Bermuda resident). Grab a barstool in front of the grill for a quick Bermudian-style breakfast (bacon, egg, and cheese on a coffee roll). The wide lunch and dinner menus offer everything from sandwiches and burgers ($3.20) served on freshly baked rolls to pastas ($10.75), island fish specials ($10), pizzas (starting at $7.75), calzoni, and stromboli, plus a separate kids’ menu. A full sushi menu is also available, prepared at a separate bar by dedicated sushi chefs. Home-baked loaves of banana bread and gingerbread are often sold at the checkout counter. The only thing missing is a liquor license.
Rotisserie Grill (8 South Rd., tel. 441/232-7444, 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat., 7 a.m.–8 p.m. Sun.) does a roaring trade with its made-to-order breakfast omelettes, jerk chicken wraps, salads, soups, and family-sized dinners of roast chicken or ribs, with biscuits and sides of mashed potatoes. Eat in or take out.
Bermuda brewpub North Rock Brewing Co. (10 South Shore Rd., tel. 441/236-6633, fax 441/236-2288, lunch 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Mon.–Fri. and 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m. Sat., dinner 6–10 p.m. Mon.–Sat.) is a British-style pub, complete with a dark-hued interior, booths, and a bar. The menu is pricey but varied. Seafood, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, ribs, and pub staples like steak-and-ale pie ($21.95), bangers and mash (sausages with mashed potatoes) ($18.95), and fish ’n’ chips ($18.50) are all available. Bermuda fish and lobster (in season) are also offered, as well as kid-friendly platters and vegetarian dishes. The bar has wines by the glass, and specialty 20-ounce pints or 12-ounce half pints of ale brewed on the premises, with Bermudian monikers like St. David’s Light and Blackwatch Stout.
