Candlelit dinners are served in
The Tamarisk Room at Cambridge Beaches Resort (30 Kings Point Rd., tel. 441/234-0331, toll-free 800/468-7300, fax 441/234-3352, www.cambridgebeaches.com [1], dinner only 7–9 p.m. daily), where cedar-steeped surroundings, dark coral walls, and silver service make for a formal treat. In the old Bermudian tradition, jacket and tie are encouraged, though no longer required, for male guests. During the summer, meals are also served outside on the terrace, overlooking Mangrove Bay and the string of nearby islands.
Chef Harald Klement’s five-course menus change daily, along with recommended selections from the vintage wine cellar. Appetizers include baby mozzarella and vine tomato tartare ($8), jerk-grilled shrimp ($12), and traditional Indian garbanzo bean salad ($7.50), while entrées range from blackened grouper ($27) to braised lamb shank ($25) and a pasta of the day ($17).
