The Bermuda Day Parade on May 24 is the island’s version of Caribbean Carnival. Following a historic half-marathon, which travels from the West End through Front Street’s cheering crowds to a Pembroke [1] finish, an hours-long parade of majorettes, gombeys, decorated floats, dance troupes, and other community performers winds through the city. Families stake out their seats the night before to get a good viewing spot, and then camp out on sidewalks most of the day.
