Brewer’s Bay Campground (284/494-3463, $40) has a dozen prepared and bare campsites nestled under the palms at beautiful Brewer’s Bay beach. Prepared sites come with a platform tent, beds, bedding, a two-burner propane stove, cooler, table, chairs, and cooking equipment. You must provide your own ice and drinking water. Bare sites, which come with a table, chairs, and a place to pitch your tent, are available for $15 per night. Shared bathrooms are at a concrete bathhouse, with utility sink, toilets, and showers.
The greatest attraction here is being able to sleep just a few steps away from Brewer’s Bay beach, one of the best and least disturbed beaches on Tortola [1]. The campground facilities are a little run-down, and the unsophisticated approach to guest services may be charming or frustrating, depending on your perspective. Nevertheless, the campground often fills up in the winter months.
Consider logistics if you stay here; Brewer’s Bay has no grocery store and few restaurants, and taxis charge upwards of $20 for a one-way trip to town. Walking to the nearest market in Cane Garden Bay [2] will easily take several hours. It is a good idea to either stock up on groceries before you come or plan to rent a car.
