Marinas are places where boats can pull up to a dock overnight or longer. Most offer basic services, such as electricity, water supply, and garbage collection. Others have restaurants, hotels, groceries, and marine supply depots.
Road Harbour is home to a half dozen different marinas, which offer a place to dock your boat plus amenities like electricity, water, showers, restaurants, and hotels.
Village Cay (Wickham’s Cay, 284/494-2771) is a 100-slip marina that can accommodate boats up to 150 feet in length. It is home to a popular restaurant, bar, and hotel. Services include a spa, laundry, showers, phone service, and cable TV. It is also convenient to all of Road Town [1]’s services, including travel agencies, courier services, bookstores, and grocery stores. Right next to Village Cay is Inner Harbour Marina (Channel 16), equally convenient to Road Town. Services here include water and electricity.
On the eastern end of the harbor you will find the bases of The Moorings and Footloose Charters, both of which can be used for transitory yachts, provisioning, refueling, and more.
Fort Burt Marina in Road Reef on the western end of Road Harbour has recently upgraded slips and is near to a marine supply retailer.
One of the newest marinas on Tortola [2], Manual Reef Marina (Sea Cow’s Bay, 284/495-2066) offers electricity, water, showers, and yacht management. The BVI Watersports Centre on the premises offers sailing instruction.
Nanny Cay Marina (Nanny Cay, 284/494-2512) is a full-service boatyard and marina with a 40-room hotel, two restaurants, chandlery, spa, Internet access, and much more.
On the west end, Soper’s Hole Wharf and Marina (Frenchman’s Cay, 284/495-4589) has 50 slips, a small hotel, and services. It also has moorings. Also at Soper’s Hole, Frenchman’s Cay Shipyard and Marina (284/495-4353) has dockage for ships up to 150 feet, a chandlery, and repairs. It specializes in wooden yachts, multihulls, and teak decking.
