Café Roma (340/776-6524, 5–10 p.m. daily, $12–30) has been pleasing diners with home-style Italian dinner fare for more than 10 years. Now under new ownership, Café Roma continues to serve consistently good lasagna, spaghetti Bolognese, baked penne, ravioli, pizza, and more. The atmosphere is cozy and unrefined, but the service is genuinely friendly and (usually) relatively speedy. This is comfort dining at its best. Look for Café Roma across the street from Connections. Its bright red facade is hard to miss. The dining room is up one flight of stairs.
