In addition to Maho Bay Campground [1] the other big campground on St. John [2] is Cinnamon Bay Campground (Cinnamon Bay, 340/776-6330, fax 340/776-6458, www.cinnamonbay.com [3]). Cinnamon Bay has cottages ($110–140 winter, $70–90 summer), prepared tents ($80 winter, $58 summer), and bare sites ($30). Like Maho Bay, Cinnamon Bay is popular, especially with return guests.
The cottages, some of which are beachfront, are fully screened, with electric lights, a terrace, four twin beds, linens, ceiling fans, charcoal grill, propane stove, ice chest, and cooking and eating utensils. The prepared tents sit on raised platforms. Each comes with four twin beds, a propane stove, lantern, ice chest, linens, and cooking and eating utensils. The bare sites fit one large tent or two small ones. A picnic table and charcoal grill are provided.
Cold-water showers and lavatories for all guests are in shared bathhouses. There are group campsites. A restaurant on-site serves three meals a day, and a small store sells basic food and supplies (at exorbitant prices).
Cinnamon Bay closes during the month of September.
