Sandwiched between New York [1] and New England, Connecticut residents boast that they have the best of both worlds. Mansions front Long Island Sound, where espresso-gulping residents daily board the train for Gotham daily. Further up the coast, the literati flock to New Haven [2], synonymous with Yale University [3]; and tourists raise the rigging at the reconstructed seaport of Mystic [4]. The rest of the state is classic New England, with farmhouses and foliage decorating the rolling Litchfield Hills [5] and the Connecticut River Valley [6].
