Denver [2]’s beloved independent bookstore has three large locations—LoDo, Colfax Avenue, and the suburb of Highlands Ranch. In 2006, the Tattered Cover closed their four-story store in Cherry Creek and relocated to the historic Lowenstein Theater on Colfax Avenue the same year. The new layout is completely unique, with bookshelves where theater seats used to be, and takes some getting used to.

Each store has thousands of books and periodicals as well as a coffee shop and special events space for book readings and signings. Check their website or get on the mailing list to stay up-to-date on visiting authors, book signings, and more.

The LoDo location can be found at 1628 16th Street at Wynkoop Street (303/436-1070) and the Highlands Ranch store is at 9315 Dorcester Street in the Highlands Ranch Town Center (303/470-7050).
