Lower Downtown has a rich history, from the first encampments along the South Platte River to the first buildings and all of the colorful characters along the way. There are three different walking tours, each departing from a different locale with a unique schedule and itinerary.
The LoDo Historic District two-hour tour is a chance to learn about the businesses that first occupied many of the beautiful buildings, or that still do, such as the Oxford Hotel [2].
It’s adults only on the late afternoon tour, From Gold Camp to Paris on the Platte, which includes alcoholic beverages and appetizers.
The Downtown Denver Walking Tour starts in the Western History Department of the Denver Public Library [3] and provides an overview of the area.
