It makes sense to have a museum dedicated to mountaineering in Colorado, where rock climbing, ice climbing, and bouldering are some of the top sports. The Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum, located in downtown Golden, is of interest to anyone with even a passing interest in scaling peaks.
The idea here is not to entertain but rather to educate people about exciting mountain expeditions that have occurred—whether on Mt. Everest or in Colorado—and what to know when planning your own.
