Once on the edge of downtown in a seedy neighborhood, El Chapultepec hasn’t bothered to change its appearance since the neighborhood has become a thriving nightlife scene near Coors Field [1].

That gritty dive-bar quality is part of the appeal, though. Stop in for a cold beer and a burrito at the bar anytime, or come by later to hear local jazz musicians and even some jazz greats play nightly.

Opened in 1951, El Chapultepec has hosted Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, and even the Rolling Stones. If it’s too crowded, head to the Highlands and check out Chapultepec Too (3930 W. 38th Ave., 303/480-9406).
