Begun in 1995 as a small fundraiser for the Ferndale community, this annual mid-August parade down Woodward Avenue has become the world’s largest one-day automotive event, luring 1.5 million people and 40,000 classic cars from around the globe.
The Woodward Dream Cruise (www.woodwarddreamcruise.com [1]) stretches 16 miles though Berkley, Birmingham [2], Bloomfield Hills [3], Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac [4], and Royal Oak [5], taking over Woodward Avenue through each of these towns—truly a spectacle to behold.
Find your spot early, as it gets very crowded all along the route.
