For Baltimore’s [2] upper class, the sensible khakis, blue blazers, tweed suits, and tattersall shirts of Joseph A. Bank clothiers (not as fancy as Brooks Brothers, but just as preppy) have been de rigueur since 1905, when the company was founded. After some lean years in the recent past, this clothing company has become a real mover in the U.S. men’s clothing world, and while you won’t be setting any trends with the conservative attire here, you will be able to gain entry into any of the city’s more elite restaurants and clubs.
This is the city’s flagship store, located in the same building as one of Baltimore’s most storied financial companies (T. Rowe Price), which means while it’s no marble and walnut shopping Shangri La, you can feel the heavy billfolds of some of the shoppers here.
