Part of the Maryland Institute College of Art, this dramatic, angular, green-glass building is home to the school’s new media department; it’s also the site of a 550-seat auditorium in the basement that shows all sorts of interesting films throughout the year.
Documentaries, propaganda features, classics, avant-garde experiments, and cult favorites all make the quirky cut here; check the MICA website’s events section for a current listing of films. Admission is generally free, but bring some cash just in case.
This theater also serves as one of May’s Maryland Film Festival screening sites (most films are shown at the nearby Charles Theatre [2]).
